Interest in cast iron cookware has rapidly grown over recent years due to how incredibly versatile it is when it comes to being able to cook a multitude of dishes – alongside its ‘vintage’ appearance that people absolutely love.
They also have a huge advantage over many other types of pans in that they can be heated to incredibly high temperatures – so are great for searing things like steak. It is also possible to make them practically non-stick through repeated ‘seasonings’ (essentially where layers of carbonized oil stick to the pan creating a smooth surface). Also, with a little maintenance these pans will outlive you! Vintage cast iron is very popular and there’s pans around today that are still in use that are hundreds of years old.

First and foremost is the 10 inch cast iron skillet from Lodge. Lodge is an American cast iron cookware company based in Tennessee that have been around since 1896 and continue to produce pans to this day.
