Interest in cast iron cookware has rapidly grown over recent years due to how incredibly versatile it is when it comes to being able to cook a multitude of dishes – alongside its ‘vintage’ appearance that people absolutely love.
They also have a huge advantage over many other types of pans in that they can be heated to incredibly high temperatures – so are great for searing things like steak. It is also possible to make them practically non-stick through repeated ‘seasonings’ (essentially where layers of carbonized oil stick to the pan creating a smooth surface).
